Individuals ages 19 to 30 who are interested in becoming a Focus Group Facilitator can review the position description and submit an on-line application form along with a resume. Eligible candidates will be contacted for an interview when positions become available (every 6 to 12 months). Successful applicants sign a Letter of Understanding, submit a Police Check, complete a two-day Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training certified workshop, participate in a one-day Facilitation Skills in-service, and observe 2-3 focus groups prior to facilitating.
Stigma and discrimination about mental health and illness is a barrier. When youth talk about mental health, they are more likely to get help for themselves or others who are struggling with mental health problems.
